344 km2 Grenada (pronounced /ɡrɨˈneɪdə/ ( listen)) is an island country and
Commonwealth Realm consisting of the island of Grenada and six smaller
islands at the southern end of the Grenadines in the southeastern
Caribbean Sea.
Grenada is also known as the "Island of Spice" due to the production
of nutmeg and mace crops of which Grenada is one of the world's
largest exporters. Its size is 344 square kilometres (133 sq mi), with
an estimated population of 110,000.

The Invasion of Grenada, codenamed Operation Urgent Fury, was a 1983
US-led invasion of Grenada, a Caribbean island nation with a
population of just over 100,000 located 100 miles (160 km) north of
Venezuela.
Carib Indians inhabited Grenada when COLUMBUS discovered the island in
1498, but it remained uncolonized for more than a century. The French
settled Grenada in the 17th century, established sugar estates, and
imported large numbers of African slaves.

Christopher Columbus discovered Grenada in 1498.
From 1784 until its independence in 1974, Grenada remained a member of
the British Empire, passing through various stages of colonial status
and multiple associations with other regional states. In 1967, Grenada
became an "Associated State of Great Britain" within the British

it expands its manufacturing plant in the northern Mississippi city of
Grenada.
Grenada Stamping is a subsidiary of Ice Industries, which is
headquartered in Sylvania, Ohio. The facility manufactures parts for
the appliance, automotive, and heating, air conditioning, ventilation
and refrigeration industries.
